Emergency treatment of chloropropene leakage
2023-07-10
Protective measures, protective equipment and emergency response procedures for operators:
Eliminate all ignition sources. Define a warning area according to the area affected by liquid flow and vapor diffusion. Evacuate unrelated personnel from the crosswind and upwind direction to a safe area. It is recommended that emergency personnel wear positive pressure self-contained breathing apparatus and anti-poison and anti-static clothing. All equipment used during operation should be grounded. Do not touch or cross leaks. Cut off the source of leaks as much as possible. Prevent leaks from entering water bodies, sewers, basements or restricted spaces. Small leaks are absorbed with sand or other non-combustible materials. Use clean non-spark tools to collect absorbent materials. Build embankments or dig pits for containment of large leaks. Cover with foam to reduce evaporation. Water spray reduces evaporation, but does not reduce the flammability of spills in confined spaces. Transfer to a tanker or dedicated collector with an explosion-proof pump. Spray water to disperse vapor and dilute liquid spills
Environmental protection measures: contain leaks and avoid polluting the environment. Prevent leaks from entering sewers, surface water and groundwater.
The containment and removal methods of leaked chemicals and the disposal materials used:
Small leaks: Collect leaking liquids in airtight containers as much as possible. Absorb with sand, activated carbon or other inert materials and transfer to a safe place. Do not flush into sewers.
Large leaks: Build embankments or dig pits for containment. Close drainage pipes. Cover with foam to inhibit evaporation. Transfer to a tanker or special collector with an explosion-proof pump for recycling or transport to a waste disposal site for disposal.
