Chloropropene is a chemical. Friends who may often come into contact with this product should know that it is often used as an important raw material for products such as pesticides, fragrances and coatings. Although many friends do not often come into contact with it, it does play a role in our lives. A certain role, then someone may be interested in how this product is made? Let's take a look at its preparation method.

1. High temperature chlorination method

The reaction equation: CH3CH = CH2 + Cl2 → ClCH2CH = CH2 + HCl. The dried propylene is preheated at 350-400 ° C, the liquid chlorine is heated and vaporized, and the two materials are mixed and reacted under high-speed injection state. The ratio of propylene to chlorine is 4-5:1 (molar ratio), the reactor residence time is 1.5-2s, and the reaction temperature is 470-500 ° C. The reaction product is quenched to 50-100 ° C to remove HCl and propylene, and then fractionated to obtain propylene chloride. This method is adopted by most production enterprises at home and abroad.

2. Propylene oxychlorination method

Propylene, hydrogen chloride and oxygen mixed in the ratio of 2.5~ (1:1:1)~ 0.2 (molar ratio) were reacted in a fluidized bed reactor. The catalyst was Te, V2O5 or H3PO4 loaded on the support, and nitrogen-containing substances were added as accelerators. The atmospheric oxygen chlorination reaction was carried out at 240~ 260 ℃ to obtain 3-chloropropene. Reaction equation: CH3CH = CH2 + HCl + 1/2O2 [catalyst] → CH2 = CHCH2Cl + H2O.

3. Allyl alcohol chlorination method

Reaction equation: CH2 = CHCH2OH [Cu2Cl2, HCl] → CH2 = CHCH2Cl + H2O. Drop sulfuric acid into allyl alcohol, cuprous chloride and hydrochloric acid at 10-20 ° C. After the dropwise addition is completed, the thermal insulation reaction is completed for 5h, and it is left to stand for stratification. The upper liquid is washed once with water, 5% sodium carbonate solution, and water. After the water is exhausted, the fractions above 40 ° C are distilled and collected, which is 3-chloropropene. This method is suitable for small batch production.

The above introduces three common preparation methods of chloropropene. Each method is suitable for different conditions. In the selection of methods, we should choose the appropriate process according to the actual situation to complete the production more efficiently. Batch size, raw materials, and reaction conditions should be taken into account. I hope the above content can be of some help to everyone.
